Romance for One

This was an assignment for my lighting class.  The assignment was to create a mood using light.  I came across this lighting arrangement by accident, it looked like someone cracked the door to a room open and the light poured in to reveal the scene inside.  I wasn't sure what I was looking for, but was very happy with the result.  This was taken with a 4x5 camera.

In the Shade

This photograph was my final still life for my Large Format and Lighting class.  The objective was to combine at least three different elements to create an interesting image.  I love the beach, so I used some of my favorite things, flip flops, sand, flowers and a beach towel.  This photograph was shot with a 4x5 camera.

Ring-Around-The-Rosie

Photographing children can be difficult and very frustrating!  Taking a photograph for their family Christmas card, Finley and Fiona wanted nothing to do with the camera. Getting them to play a game was distracting and made a great Christmas photo!

Fiona

This is one of my favorite photos of Fiona.  There is a grassy field near her house where she loves to run and play.  The expression on her face shows her spirit.

Love

This image was created for my Lighting class.  The assignment was "black on black".  Put a black object against a black background and use lighting techniques to make it stand out.  I had a light directed on the front of the subject and a bounce booard behind it.

Heather

These portraits were taken for my Principles of Photography class at the Art Institute of Colorado.  This is my sister, Heather, outside of our apartment in the morning sun.  These photos really capture her dynamic nature.  We had so much fun shooting these photos!
